Last updated: 24 February 2026

BoulderPad is a bouldering session tracker for iOS and Android, currently in development. This website lets you sign up to be notified when the app is available to download.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this site, why we collect it, and how we handle it — in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), and other applicable data protection law.

Who we are

BoulderPad is operated by Yik Han Siah, based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller.

Contact: hello@boulderpad.com

What we collect

We collect only your email address, which you provide voluntarily by submitting the notification form on this site. We do not collect your name, location, device information, or any other personal data.

Why we collect it

We collect your email address solely to send you a single notification email when the BoulderPad app becomes available to download. We will not send newsletters, ongoing marketing communications, or any further emails after that notification.

Legal basis

The legal basis for processing your data is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the UK GDPR and EU GDPR). By entering your email address and clicking “Notify me”, you are giving your consent to receive one launch notification email.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by:

  • Clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or
  • Emailing us at hello@boulderpad.com

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.

Mailchimp — our email service provider

Your email address is stored and managed using Mailchimp, a service provided by The Rocket Science Group, LLC (part of Intuit Inc.). Mailchimp acts as a data processor on our behalf — processing your data only as we instruct, under a Data Processing Agreement.

Mailchimp is headquartered in the United States. Your email address will be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States.

  • For UK users: Mailchimp participates in the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the UK–US Data Bridge), which the UK Government has recognised as providing adequate protection for personal data transferred from the UK to the US.
  • For EU users: Mailchimp is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has formally recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.

Mailchimp's privacy policy is available at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.

How long we keep your data

We will retain your email address until:

  • You unsubscribe or request deletion, or
  • We have sent the launch notification and a reasonable period has passed, at which point we will purge the list

We will not retain your email address indefinitely.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Object — object to our processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@boulderpad.com. We will respond within one month.

California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) may give you additional rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. The email address you provide is used only to send you a one-time app launch notification.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use cookies, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or any form of behavioural tracking.

Supervisory authorities

If you are in the UK and have a concern about how we handle your data that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

If you are in the EU, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country of residence.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
